BACKGROUND
Brandon Cowan is a Principal with CowanGates and is a member of the estate planning and business and corporate law teams. Brandon’s law practice focuses on tax and estate planning; probate; estate and trust administration; executor and trustee services; guardian and conservator matters for the incapacitated; estate, trust and fiduciary litigation; and wide-ranging business law services, including business succession planning, asset, stock and membership purchase/sale transactions, business loan contract review, negotiating and closings—representing borrowers and lenders, and corporate litigation. In addition, Brandon represents sellers, purchasers, and developers in residential and commercial real estate transactions. He also represents both plaintiffs and defendants involved in civil litigation.
After earning his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 1994, Brandon began a direct sales career with the Tom James Company. Three years later, Brandon created and developed a new territory in the Philadelphia region. For 11 years, Brandon was charged with growing Tom James of Philadelphia, where he led marketing, direct sales, management, and leadership initiatives. At Tom James, Brandon gained vast experience working with business executives and owners, financial advisors, attorneys and many other professionals in diverse industries. Brandon earned numerous sales and leadership awards, including the prestigious President’s Club.
While maintaining his 14-year career with the Tom James Company, Brandon also attended law school at night and obtained his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware
